Bring your music!  An intensive master class with award-winning Broadway, film and television actress Tovah Feldshuh on An Actor’s Approach to a Song.   You don’t have to be a great singer to sell a number.  Tovah demonstrates through pieces from her own acclaimed one person shows how to approach a song as a monologue. You can convey and move people with a song as brilliantly as if you wrote it. Tovah Feldshuh gives you four decades of Broadway experience to accompany you all the way through the final note.

She will teach invaluable techniques to help even the beginner get to the core of a lyric and mount it through song as a dramatic or comic piece.  The results are thrilling! Get ready to work!

Tovah also addresses:

  • how to keep the voice you have in optimum condition
  • how to choose the material you want to sing
  • how to underpin a lyric with subtext
  • what to do with your body — end self-consciousness!
  • how to “focus” and “sell” a number

This course embraces singers and non-singers alike! Come one, come all!

Price: 20 hours at $25/hour – $500 total

Students will need:
1)TWO songs:​ an uptempo and a ballad , preferably comic and dramatic ​that the student is familiar with enough to sing from memory but  flexible enough to work on with Tovah​

2) sheet music for the 2 songs ​(3 copies of each song)

3)2 copies of ​typed lyrics in thought patterns for each song with 3 spaces between each line of lyric:
